Habitat and Mounties form Partnership
Habitat and Mounties form Partnership

Today, we are pleased to announce an extraordinary partnership between the employees of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police “Depot” Division and Habitat for Humanity Regina. Together we will build the first Mountie house in Saskatchewan!

This community-based project also marks the official start of the celebrations leading to the Division’s 125th anniversary on November 1, 2010. "I cannot think of a better way to celebrate this historic milestone then by entering into a partnership with such a respected, well-known organization that has, not unlike Depot, shaped our communities", says Roger Brown, Commanding Officer of the Depot.

The RCMP’s objective is to maintain safe homes and safe communities and Mountie House is an ideal way for our cadets and our employees to demonstrate their commitment to building strong community relationships. This is reflected in our campaign slogan:

Depot: Home of the Mounties. Building homes. Building hope.

Habitat for Humanity believes that everyone deserves to have a simple, decent and affordable place to live. The RCMP agree. By leveraging our combined resources, we can and will effect a positive and lasting change in our community.

As the sole basic training facility, Depot is home to all members of the RCMP and the Mountie House Committee want to encourage past, present and future members to partner with Habitat for Humanity to build a Mountie House in their community.
